Preventative Dentistry

Good brushing and flossing habits are essential to maintaining the health of your teeth and gums; however, professional prophylaxis treatments are also vital to staving off future dental problems and keeping your teeth fresh and clean. Delightful Dental Care recommends at least two dental cleanings each year. We use only the most advanced dental technologies to ensure that your teeth cleanings are performed effectively and as comfortably as possible. We also use advanced air polishing techniques from Hu-Friedy, which we provide for effective stain removal during hygiene check-ups for a clean and healthy smile.

Periodontics deals with prevention, diagnosis, and treatment periodontal disease. Our patients are checked for signs of periodontal disease at each dental cleaning to ensure they are receiving the best type and frequency of cleaning for their personal needs.

Sealants are recommended to be placed in children’s first and second molars as soon as possible after the teeth have fully erupted. In this quick and painless procedure, sealant material is placed in the grooves of the teeth to help prevent food and bacteria from sitting in the tiny crevices of the teeth and causing decay.

Oral cancer is a life-threatening condition that requires diagnosis and treatment as early as possible to reduce serious health risks. You will receive a complimentary oral cancer screening twice a year at your dental checkups. Remember, early diagnosis, and treatment are key to successfully overcoming oral cancer..

Night Guard

A custom night guard is a removable appliance that fits over your upper or lower teeth that is custom made for you in. It is used to stop damage caused by grinding or clenching your teeth while you sleep.

We offer 3D panoramic x-ray images for the highest quality diagnostic information for our patients. In using this 3D technology we also provide sleep apnea appliances and night guards.

Sports mouth guards should be used by anyone – children and adults – who play contact sports such as soccer, football, basketball, lacrosse, boxing, ice hockey and field hockey. However, if you or your child are participating in non-contact sports, like gymnastics, or any recreational activity, like skateboarding or mountain biking, that could pose the risk of injury to the mouth it would be beneficial to wear a protective sports mouth guard.
